For a filmaker or photographer it is difficult to convey a scent visually. I can associate scent with a visual memory, but I can not associate an image with scent. Nor can I produce a scent to accompany an image.

I was planing on taking stills for this concert but I wasn’t comfortable bringing my gear, and I wanted to have fun. I opted not to bring anything, expect my phone. I took some video and put it on the chopping block.

I reload my camera with film over and over again; because it has mass and a chemical composition. It is permanent.
Don’t get me wrong I love digital, but I cannot archive my life and my experiences in binary form. They have to be physical to me.
To me a photograph is a single frame forever captured from a forced perspective, a perspective you could never experience again.
